What is it like to be a grad student?
David Starrling
I graduated from SUNY Fredonia last year with a B.S. in physics and mathematics and was part of the MACS program.
Since graduation I have been attending the University of Rochester full time as a Ph.D. candidate in the physics and astronomy department with T.A. responsibilities.
My talk will cover the process of becoming a grad student as well as some of the details of being a grad student (such as classes, housing and research). I'll end the talk with a simple but interesting math problem from one of my homework sets.
