SUNY Fredonia MACS Scholarship

MACS Opportunities

Research

Most mathematics and computer science faculty have on-going research programs. Through the MACS program, you will become acquainted with their research interests. In addition to research opportunities on campus, we have a good track record of placing our students in summer programs at universities around the country called Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs). We have also had students participate in summer programs sponsored by government agencies such as NASA.

Internships

An internship is a structured way for you to gain valuable work experience while still a student. It's a great way to network, acquire interviewing skills, and practice with communication and technical writing. We have contacts with several companies in Western New York, and can help you find an internship in a technical field that matches your interest and skills.

Mentoring

As a MACS scholar, you will be assigned a faculty mentor, who will help you set your career goals and plan your course of study. In addition, with the help of our Career Development Office, we will offer you a number of planned exercises designed to help you prepare for the process of finding and landing that great job!
