Career Prespectives from a Lockheed-Martin Engineer

David Lemmon received his Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Fredonia in December 1999 completing majors in Computer Science and Mathematics. At Fredonia he was involved in the Math Club, Computer Science Club, Figure Skating Club, and Co-ed Volleyball club.

In the summer of 1999 he worked as an intern at Lockheed Martin in Owego, NY where he developed test procedures for the Light Airborne Multi-purpose system (LAMPS) program, and a database application to track SW test procedure development, execution and status.

In January 2000 he began working at Lockheed Martin in Owego full time where he continued his work in the Software Test organization on a variety of different programs. In May 2000, he obtained a three year position in the Engineering Leadership Development Program where he earned a Masters in Systems Engineering from Cornell University with additional leadership development courses provided by Lockheed Martin.

David Lemmon is currently a Senior Associate Software Engineer at Lockheed working on an Independent Research and Development (IRAD) program where he and his team are developing an improved operator systems interface (OSI) for U.S. NAVY, with the intent of deploying the system on other avionics platforms.

David will talk about his experiences at Fredonia and at Lockheed-Martin to give interested students at Fredonia some insight into his career opportunities and skills valued by employees.
