1. Web Programming I is a three-credit course. An introductory course in client-side web technologies: HTML, cascading style sheets and JavaScript; designing and publishing a web site. Other topics include history of the internet and world-wide-web, HTML editors, and graphics.
Prerequisite: None

Course Textbook:
Elizabeth Castro, HTML for the World Wide Web with XHTML and CSS: Visual
QuickStart Guide, 5th ed. (PeachPit Press, 2003). Book is available at the
College Bookstore.
3. Materials Required: (a) One 128 MB or 250 MB USB flash drive and (b) four or five blank 3.5" High Density (HD) 1.44 MB diskettes (IBM compatible)

5. Projects/Assignments and Quizzes : All Projects/Assignments and quizzes must be taken on the date scheduled. Failure to do so will result in a zero for that project/assignment or quiz grade. An assignment/project/quiz missed due to absence cannot be made up unless prior arrangements have been made with the instructor. A valid written excuse will be required before a makeup is considered.
6. Grades: There will be some programming assignments/projects/quizzes throughout this course. The assignments/projects will require you to write an actual code, which will test your understanding of the underlying concepts and how they are implemented. The grading will be based on the programming assignments/projects/quizzes.
7. Assignment/Projects: All assignments/projects are due at the beginning of class on the dates to be set by the instructor. In addition to this, several Lab Exercises are done during the class period and they will count substantially toward the final grade. A 5% penalty will be assessed for each calendar day of lateness. Assignments/projects handed in more than one week (seven days) late will not be accepted for credit. These assignments and projects are to represent your own efforts at a solution. Note: Assignment/project due dates will be announced in class.

9. Attendance: Class attendance is highly recommended as all assignments/projects and Lab Exercises are based upon the class work and notes. You are responsible for all the material presented in class and announcements. No excuses of any nature will relieve you from the responsibility of missed announcements.
10. Academic Honesty: The specific actions in response to incidents of student dishonesty are inclusive of receiving a failing grade for an exam, quiz, assignment or the course, suspension or dismissal from college. I grades are given only if illness, hardship or any other extra ordinary circumstances preclude the completion of the course. An I grade must be arranged before the final examination.
