I graduated with a Master's Degree in Mathematics from Binghamton University in May of 1995. I started a tenure-track position in the Mathematics Department at Monroe Community College in September of 1995 at the Instructor level. After five years I earned tenure and was promoted to Assistant Professor. I met my husband, Justin P. Calhoun, while we were both students at Fredonia State. We were married in July of 1994. Several Fredonia State mathematics professors attended our wedding. Justin is a Doctor of Chiropractic and has his own practice in Victor, NY. Our daughter, Melanie, was born in June of 2001. Our son, Jacob, was born in July of 2001. They both came home through the miracle of adoption. Our lives have been truly blessed.
